British Pound Futures Volatility Forecast (05/12/2010)

The fluctuations of the British Pound futures still look stable whilst the last week saw a slow downtrend which ended with a sudden rise that seems quite suspicious.

The volatility is now around 0.6% (9.5% annualised) and the chart is displaying a rising curve which does not really fit with the last movements that this market experienced. A rising volatility is not really a strong signal for a bullish market and therefore a retracement should be expected during the week ahead.

A weakening of Pound Futures could be helped by a further strengthening of the dollar which is likely to appreciate given the recent Non-Farm payroll and unemployment figures in the USA. The staff of HyperVolatility is bearish on pound and we advise you to look towards the 154-155 area.
